Hi guys, long time no update due to I've test something more for the better color I want to.
Before painting, I recommend to check parting lines, curves and surfaces. Plug them with putty and sand them smoothly. Sand them up by starting with rough to fine grit size e.g. #320 --> #600 --> #1,000 or other similar grit sizes.
If you do not want to remove parting lines, you can skip this part (16-4)
Previously we got this weld seam of epoxy (for connecting the 2 curves smoothly)
I started with the 3 mm. diameter of diamond mounted point to remove the big exceeding part of weld seam. By the way, grinding particle may interrupt
laser pointer & eyes. So I cover it then.
Then continue with smaller e.g. 2mm to for stepping the curves.
Now start to make curves.
Diamond file is always useful.
I used the square diamond file for stepping curves, but make it easy.
Check the result and sand more.
After filing, I move to sand paper, start with the most rough (#320)
Now you can see the surface got smoothly.
(no need to go to finner than #1,000 due to it's not good for color process)
Make it the final curves.
For me now it's OK. If you touch the parting line you will not feel the connection.
This is fine.
Then apply the whole step to other area you want to improve.
I also make the screw mark smoothly.
Make edges sharpper.
Finally you got this ready for painting.
Next part (part16-5) I'll start painting and I will introduce you to some equipment
that I use for color process, I'll show on next part.
Hope you all enjoy it.
Thanks for watching
bye for Now.
^o^
