Optimus Prime Pen on the moon base... Part7

7 Remake laser & LED light module to optimum length, add SMD LED light module for satellite receiver.

I've an idea that a space man should be able to move to other points. Then the plastic dowel that I made may not strong enough for this purpose. To avoid this,
I need to change it from resin to steel wire on below.

Firstly I need to adjust silicone mold by making the through hole for inserting steel wire
(I use 1.5 mm diameter)

Cover sillicone (hard type) around steel wire. Insert it into this hole.
Wait till silicone is set. Try to take out and put in again. Be ready for resin process.

Steel wire will be inside resin that is strong enough.

by this way, you can make dowel as your desired length, mine is around 5-6 mm.
That is finished for space man. now move on to work with light module of
Optimus Prime that I've just finished the tentative module back then.

this step it sthe same, just to cut it carefully.

Now we are making the actual length of LED lights.
(to use smallest soldering wire is recommended)

2 LED for 2 eyes, and Pointer is for the forehead.

Check the pointer must be sharp and circle. if not, means the lens was scratches.

Check LED light that functional.
Then I'd like to have ligtht point onto the moon from top angle.
So only one thing I figure out is the satellite receiver on below, 

I've tried the light point to the moon. it looks nice for me, but the challenge is
LED is too big to insert into satellite receiver. Then see what I solved.

This is one kind of light, it called micro SMD LED. Size only 1.5mm and
I selected the super bright type. it's a bit difficult to find too.

Connect the small wire to 2 contacts carefully.

wire length are around 10 cm. is better, this one I've just tried out. Then to activate this LED ligtht, should be switch type "press to activate, press again to deactivate" only.

I have in my storage ^^ don't envy ahh? suggest to find the smallest as you can find.
You will know later why :)

Due to they are 6 legs altogether, to ensure that will not miss function.
find its function each legs.

Once check with meter, I got the schematic on above.
Left is schematic of deactivate, right is activated.

This is the normal connection, but I use the button battery 1.5V x 3 pcs = 4.5 V.
that is too high for this micro LED. then see below how to solve.

LED spec says Voltage = 2.5, and current = 50mA max. Then by above formula,
you will know the Resister to drop the current to 50 mA. R= 40ohm,
but I have only 20ohm. Then I used 2 pcs of 20ohm connected as series.

from this photo is not finished, need to put 2 wires from battery.

 if you need more brightness, you can drop R to 20-30ohm,
but LED light may not be long life.
