8-2 Set switch positions for space man and the pen to activate sounds (continue)

This part is more fun, I'll put the switches. The difficulty is how to attach them strongly. Due to the way of activate switch by the pen is the same way of releasing switch ToT

to make switch more stable, need to add little material (by either resin or super glue)

The groove size is around 1.5mm. we need some wire close to this size.

Then fillet 2 corners.

The steel wire in this clothpin is the most suitable for this application.

It has very strong spring property that will hold our switch tightly.

switch is in middle and it's just fit.

Press clip into resin part with clamping switch on middle, arrange the 2 pressing points aline horizonal ( to hold s/w well)

To ensure that clamp work (before locking the clamp) I tested by pushing pen into s/w, meter read zero of resistance value. This works.

Now making the locker, mark 2 points

(becareful not to mark too wide it may not clamp well)

remove this resin as a point 1mm. dept both sides.

See.. the clamp positions is locked into resin. To ensure its functional by pulling out the clip the vertical direction. It would not move even little gap. If it is,fix the locking points. Yes, it's not easy I accept it, but not exceed your patience.

wrap it with 1mm steel wire tightly. after this check by meter again to ensure switch never moved. (I cut the legs of switch to be easy for work) Now we're finished the setting up switch for pen. The left is for space man. by the way if anyone can't find this kind of clothpin, I have the below method as an option.

Use steel wire to bend it as per drawing.

final bending to this shape. you will have the same thing as clothpin,

but I test both way. I prefer Clothpin. Let's work on space man switch.

Select an on-off switch, toggle actuator is recommended.

we will activate this switch the opposite way (bottom up)

only Stainless wire is recommened, only steel wire is not realiable. select 1.2mm

(bigger or smaller will not be suit for space man hand to hold)

Use this hole to activate swtich

Set it as per above picture. Check by pulling stainless wire to activate switch.

or you can check it by meter. This switch will be fix to resin by silicone glue (do not use super glue 'coz we need flexibility stable) but I will fix it later parts.

Ok we are finished the 2 switches already.

To see the function of both sounds.

If you use bigger/smaller 1.2mm of stainless wire, it may not suit for him to hold

and not suit for activate switch.

I'm now thinking that which one I'll make first the switch position for Satellite

or to clone the Satellite.
