I'm back from the rest upcountry... then resume it now.
Previously, we're finished all about the moon. From now on, we're working on pen. I've been thinking that would I add his chin? due to without chin, pen connect directly to this head, it looks not so nice to me. what's more, wouldn't you like to have a different Optimus Prime head?
Then why not? let's go...
Just only part in circle that will be made.
but only make chin is not suitable. The support will be nice and holds chin well.
check size of the support.
draft it onto balsa wood (draft it a bit bigger due to this kind of wood
needs 1 mm finishing)
This is the middle part of chin.
prepare 3 pcs of chin.
follow the shape as photo.
once shape is done, cut it as size we measured. (to cut first will be difficult for reshape)
Combine 3 of them by latex glue.
the difficulty is small size and symmetry.
finish surface with #600 abrasive sheet.
(finer than this is not so good for painting process)
mistake on this process, just add putty, wait it dry and correct it.
be carefull the symmetry for all shape / dimension
2 edges are added texture.
that model have to be matched to this profile.
Check it all around (I removed texture now. and will make it another pattern)
add chin and check overall dimension.
An issue is this profile at side view, not lay on straight.
So we also need to make it as this curve.
make it curve.
it looks like this.
This should be ok.
consider at back side, I'll make the same as that profile.
roughly looks ok.
This 2 pcs will be attched by putty on next part.
Finally, we got 2 main pieces of Optimus Prime chin.
Next part (part14-2) will make new texture, and locker to lock pen.
